Thanksgiving in Mexico

If you've been following, you know that I prepared Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and we had some friends of ours over.  Dinner was a huge hit!  Everyone ate a lot and the kids played with no tears.  That's saying something!

The turkey turned out great!

We all had so much fun eating and laughing!

Now, time to start thinking of Christmas!  Family, friends, food and gifts!  This is when it's really hard being so far away!

Keep in touch and see you round the blog!!

Happy Thanksgiving and all that stuff......

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving even though it doesn't feel like Thanksgiving here!

I came up with an incredible menu for our dinner on Sunday but had to seriously revise it when I couldn't find half of the ingredients that I needed.  So much for hoping that Superama would have everything since they are owned by Walmart!  I guess an Okie can only dream of greenbean casserole...but wait!  I found a recipe to make the french fried onions!  I'll let you know how that goes!

On another note...we bought our Christmas tree last night.  It's gorgeous and live!  We left our water base in storage in FL so now we have some device that the guys from Sam's rigged up and now there is water on the hardwood floors!  Yikes, better find some way to keep the water in and the floors dry.  Otherwise we will be installing new floors.  No thanks!

I know, there is a pumpkin in the background!  We will put away all of the fall decorations and pull out the Christmas decorations on Saturday.  We'll make the tree pretty on Sunday!  I'll post another picture after it's all decked out!

Till then,

Football and Other Mysterious Questions

How is it that my husband can seem to find Florida games streaming online but I can't find one OU game online?

I'm also blasting out this question...Has anyone seen a Silhouette cutter in action?  I really want either a Cricut or a Silhouette cutter.  The Cricut is very expensive and then you have to buy all of these cartridges so you can use the thing.  The Silhouette is cheaper and there is software for your images or you download individual images for $0.19 each.  Hmmmm.......wonder if my hints will soak into my husbands head?

Anyway, has anyone tried the recipe for the Thanksgiving Cupcakes?  Let me know!!

What to do first?

I am making a list! No, I'm not checking it twice, not yet anyway! :) There are so many things I want to do but I'm perplexed as to where to start.

I need to organize, organize, organize!!

My closet, the pantry, my craft room...the list goes on.

Oh, on a different note. I found an amazing recipe that I want to share with you! It sounds so yummy and I can't wait to make them. Since it came from another blog, I have to give credit where it's due, Make it and Love it! I have followed this blog for a while and have made several of the projects from it. I hope you make this recipe and enjoy it! Let me know if you do!

It's almost Thanksgiving!!

So I looked at my calendar yesterday and almost fell over! It's already November 12th and I have to figure out what to do for turkey day! We will be in Mexico so I'm cooking the whole meal for my 4 person family. We have friends who are from Peru but moved here from Canada so maybe they would like the feast? Who doesn't like turkey?

Anyway, the big question is....will I be able to find all of the ingredients? I'll probably have to go to one of the local mercados around here and when I do, I'll take my camera. The mercados are crazy! Loud music, lots of people and tons of vendors. I loved the one that I've been to so far but I have to go with my driver Allan because I don't speak enough Spanish to haggle with the vendors!

I'll post pictures after we've been to the "grande" mercado! Wish me luck!
Until next time....
